Blackshear Place WIT Training a Success

On Saturday, October 29, 2011, Blackshear Place Baptist Church in Flowery Branch, Georgia, sponsored their third women's jail training clinic. Twelve women from a variety of local churches and cultural backgrounds were in attendance, including Columbia and Mexico.

Blackshear WIT Co-Directors Debra Marsh and Kay Herrin, and Director Libby Wingo (pictured above, right) organized and led the training. The noon break included Homemade Beef Vegetable Soup, freshly baked corn muffins and a wide array of delicious cakes and cupcakes. Special guest speakers included Ann Kuefner, WIT Director Emeritus, and Lt. Chuck Hewett (pictured aboce, center) who represented the Hall County Jail in Gainesville, Georgia.

The Blackshear WIT Jail Ministry presently has 3 teams who minister weekly on Tuesday evenings at the Hall County Jail. With the addition of the newly trained jail volunteers, they will soon begin day time classes as well. God is greatly blessing and working through the WIT Jail Ministry!
